After completing the Bachelor’s Degree in Biotechnology and Master’s Degree in Microbiology and Health at the University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU), in Spain, in 2024 I finished my PhD in Immunology, Microbiology and Parasitology also in the UPV/EHU. During my PhD thesis I analysed the most immunoreactive antigens of the pathogenic fungus Candida auris and the response of the fungus to oxidative stress, identifying a protein of relevant interest for the adequate development of this response and for virulence. As a postdoc at the LeibundGut-lab I am studying the interaction between C. auris and the skin commensal yeast Malassezia on the skin niche. Outside the lab, I enjoy hiking and meeting with friends to have a drink.
