I did my bachelor's and Master's degrees in Portugal, the country where I came from. Studying the interplay between our immune system and pathogens is exciting therefore, I moved to Zürich to do my PhD in that topic. Briefly, I am understanding how IL-17 pathway can modulate Candida albicans infection. In addition, I am studying the required mechanisms for C. albicans to colonize the oral mucosa. Besides my PhD, I play futsal and like to do other sports. Furthermore, I also like to be in nature and go for long walks.
